I’m so far away
The thing I look forward to most every day when I’m away from home happens after 7 PM. It didn’t happen tonight. I understand why, but it doesn’t make me miss it any less.
My night is lonely without it.
It’s well known that I look forward to it, and that it doesn’t have to last long… but it was forgotten in fatigue. You were up for a short stint, but then I was stinted.
All I wanted was to hear good night. To hear it. Not just see it. That was forgotten.
